Accompanied by a quizzical look, this is a question I often get asked when I forget/don’t know to use the American term or phrase for something.

Partly for my friends here in the ‘merica, partly because I can’t think of anything else to blog about, but mostly for the future lols I’ll get reading back on this in 5 years’ time, here is a few of the random little things I say.

= ( )

= Put (verb)

“Bung it in the oven for 15 minutes”.

= Broken (adjective)

“My bung knee is bothering me again”.

= Lots; very.

“I got heaps of work done today”. (Something I have not had the fortune misfortune of being able to say for, oh, about a year).

“That show is heaps good”.

= Shrimp

I have never, ever, heard an Aussie say, “Chuck another shrimp on the barbie”.

= Someone who feels sorry for themselves, or is a bit soft.

“He’s a bit of a sook and refuses to put in the hard yakka”.

Taking a dump

= Pooing

“The world these days consists of two types of people – those who text while taking a dump, and those who lie about it”.

= Complain(er)

= Someone who’s easily scared, or is a bit of a weakling

“Don’t be such a wuss. Deal with the spider yourself”.
